When the 2010 Ford Fusion arrived on the scene, it was known for its dependable nature. Although the manufacturer did its best in creating its build, some problems still slipped through the cracks. Unfortunately, the issues did not come to light until it hit the streets, resulting in several recalls.
How many ABS module recalls does the 2010 Ford Fusion have?

- The need for extra effort to activate the brakes
- Decreased stopping power, resulting in accidents
Thankfully, we are here to talk about the 2010 Ford Fusion anti-lock braking system (ABS) recall and let you know just how to handle it. That way, you can keep your car stopping on a dime without having to press the pedal to the floor.
ABS Valve Malfunctions and Stays Open
NHTSA Complaint ID: 19V904000
After using the anti-lock braking system to slow or stop your vehicle, its valves should return to their original position and fully close to let the lines pressurize. Unfortunately, the ABS hydraulic control units do not let this happen if they were previously filled with corrosion-prevention brake fluid.
The ABS control module cannot properly activate the system at that point, resulting in the need for repairs. Without fixing the problem, you will have to push the brake pedal down further than normal and may notice that it feels spongy.
Fixing the problem starts with a full brake flush using DOT 4 fluid and a new cap for the brake fluid reservoir. After that, techs can check if the valves still stick. If so, they just need to replace the hydraulic control unit to fully restore the function of the ABS.
