What should you know about the 2020 Kia Stinger GT trim?

As the entry-level trim, the GT comes standard with tons of cool features, like leather seating, an 8-speed automatic transmission, a multi-link rear suspension, a turbocharged 2.0L engine, and more.

Save yourself some time and research your next vehicle purchase. We’ll cover the 2020 Kia Stinger in detail below, including some specific information on its base GT line.

A Closer Look at the 2020 Kia Stinger

Making its grand debut for the 2018 model year, the Kia Stinger is a luxury mid-size sports sedan that offers seating for up to five passengers. It’s known for its sleek and aerodynamic design, its luxurious interior, and heart-pounding performance.

For the 2020 model year, the Stinger sees just a few changes. Perhaps the most notable deviation from previous model years is that its base trim is now known as the GT line. This is also the first year that wireless device charging became a standard feature.

Despite its focus on performance, the 2020 Stinger is surprisingly spacious for a mid-size sedan. Its trunk offers a full 43.3 cubic feet of dedicated storage—and its rear row folds for a maximize storage space at nearly 41 cubic feet.

The Stinger has also been the recipient of numerous awards, including:

  • “Best Midsize Premium Cars, 2020” — J.D. Power
  • “Best Luxury Car, 2019” — U.S. News & World Report
  • “Car of the Year, 2018” — Auto Guide

What’s Unique about the GT?

While the 2020 Stinger comes in four trims, many buyers find the GT trim has plenty going for it.

Beginning with a motivated and turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine at a whopping 255 horsepower, it’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The GT trim comes standard with rear-wheel drive, though all-wheel drive is available.

But it’s not just about the powerful engine, the interior’s also well-appointed inside and out. From its large, 18-inch wheels to its steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, this sedan is designed with performance in mind.

For comfort, the 2020 Stinger GT also comes standard with a power-adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats. Leather upholstery also adorns the GT’s interior, greeting you and your passengers with an air of luxury.

On the tech front, you and your passengers will also enjoy a sleek 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology for seamless smartphone integration.

What can you expect from the 2020 Stinger GT’s fuel economy? On RWD models, you’ll get a respectable EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined (22 mpg city and 29 mpg highway) with premium gasoline. That’s a total range of nearly 400 miles per tank!
