Can i use SAE OW-20 engine oil?

Whether You can use 0W-20 engine oil or not is going to really depend on Your vehicle. Let's quickly review what those numbers actually mean: The W stands for "Winter". So, a 0W is going to be able to perform in cold temperatures much better than A5W, 10W and so on, because it's rated for those lower temperatures. The 20 portion refers to the temperature when the engine is up and running. This is the number that's really important for Your engine. So, while the first number controls how fast the oil starts to get to parts, the second is how well it performs while driving. Most vehicles will recommend A5W-30, but if You live in a cold climate, You almost certainly can go ahead and use a 0W-20, but check here at vehiclehistory.com for Your specific model year vehicle to be sure!
