The 2001 Ford F-150 does not have any grease fittings on the vehicle. The ball joints and U joints in Your vehicle do not require any grease and they come properly lubricated from the factory when they are new. If the grease does wear out on these fittings over time then You can apply lubricant directly to them to help reduce the wear and tear on the components, but there is no internal fitting to add grease. Grease fittings were more common on older trucks where they were used more in conjunction with farm equipment. All farm equipment requires regular greasing so it was just part of the regular maintenance. As trucks have gained more of a mainstream appeal they have become easier to work on and maintain.

The 2001 Ford F-150 does not have grease points or lube points. A Zerk fitting also known as a grease fitting consists of a small captive bearing ball which moves back and forth against the force of a retaining spring. The pressure supplied by the grease gun will force this ball to move back. This arrangement allows the lubricant to pass through a channel.
