The 2007 Ford Edge has a fuel filter that is located on the fuel sending unit in the gas tank. This filter is designed to be replaced as part of the entire assembly if it starts to fail. The fuel filter is used to help keep debris and sediment out of Your fuel pump and the rest of Your fuel system. When sediment or debris reaches the rails or injectors it can lead to damage which can reduce fuel flow and cause the engine to stall. If You happen to notice these problems then You may need to inspect the filter. The filter is capable of being cleaned out if You do not want to completely replace it and there are no other signs of damage to the sending unit.
