If You need to replace the alternator on Your 2014 Ford Explorer it is a pretty straightforward process. You will need sockets, wrenches, and screwdrivers to be complete the project. The first thing to do is disconnect Your battery. The next thing that You will need to do is loosen the tensioner that is on the serpentine belt. This will allow You to remove the belt from the pulley on Your alternator. After that belt is loose You will want to remove the positive cable from the top of the alternator. Next You should remove the three bolts that hold the alternator into the mounting bracket. Once those are out You can slide the alternator out and then You can install a new one following that process in reverse order.
