Owners of the Mazda CX3 have complained of experiencing significant battery drain that prevents the car from being started or driven. Often the alternator is tested and found to be operating at the required 13-14 volts. Batteries, however, are drained to only 3 volts of power. The issue arises in as little as 24 hours. When the CX3's battery is replaced the condition repeats itself. Under normal circumstances this can be caused by leaving the interior lights on, the hatch open or a door ajar. In all instances these conditions were not present and appears to be connected to a hidden pull on the battery's power. In some cases replacing the #17 fifteen amp AT Transaxle control system fuse in the under-hood electrical box solves the problem.
