The most common problem You'll have with the Mazda Miata hard top's power retractable roof is the motor control on it failing. This can result in the top being stuck in place, and requiring a trip to a service center to remedy. Another problem, of much less severity, is that wind noise with the top up can become an annoyance, when the seals aren't making a tight coupling against the chassis. This is because those seals are wearing down over time, especially when exposed to constant ultra-violet radiation, and need to be replaced. One final thing to keep an eye on is for cracks to develop in the top over time. Water can start to leak in when these occur, so should You spot any, don't hold off on getting them filled.
