The 2006 Honda Element coolant type is green. You will come across many issues with an engine. A spark plug may come off, causing engine issues. A gasket may become loose and that needs to be tightened up. You can have oil leaks and those need to be repaired quickly. A really serious problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to fires and the car exploding. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be replaced sooner than expected. The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles or so. Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or so. The spark plugs need to be changed every 100,000 miles unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be changed every 30,000 miles.

Type 2 coolant that comes standard and is preferred in most hondas is regular "green" ethylene glycol af (though i think honda has chosen to color it differently as some point)-nothing special or unique-so you don't have to use the honda coolant.

Basically in basically in agreement with the only other answer I see about the green glycol being the same however I don't know the regulations and laws about color coding I do know that when I got my element at 180,000 miles with a top-end rebuild they put green antifreeze in it and it ran strong and clean crystal clear green for almost 3 years so I'm going to go ahead and use a bottle of Ford green glycol that's marketed for late 90s Fords but we all know they Market this stuff for a reason but we don't all know yet how similar are some of these products are and as far as I can find out there's only three main types and I don't know where the phosphate organic technology type Falls Within the other types so what I'm saying is I can't drop a definitive answer on this question however green glycol seems to work beautifully in my Honda Element and that's all I can speak on his experience
