The 2007 Cadillac STS comes in a two of four different configurations -- across which, two different engines are offered. You may have either the 3.6L V6 or the 4.6L V8. While both vehicles require the use of the same SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil, the smaller V6 engine needS6.0 quarts and the larger V8 requireS8.0 quarts. In either case, it's possible to substitute SAE 5W-40 over the short term. This, however, isn't advisable; and it's certainly not recommended over the longer term.
