The Lincoln Aviator was produced froM2003 until 2005 with a single engine option -- the 4.6L V8. In each of these model years, it requireS6.0 quarts of SAE 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil, though You can substitute SAE 5W-30 over the short term. The Aviator was produced once again beginning in 2020, with two engine options; both are variants on the turbocharged 3.0 liter V6, and they each require 6.0 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil. You can substitute SAE 5W-40 over the short term. Both substitutions are not advisable, if You can avoid it; using oils with higher weights than recommended can lead to premature wear and tear of the engine caused by friction. This can, in turn, lead to early engine failure; therefore, it's always advised You use the manufacturer's specified oil type with the lowest weight; You'll thank Yourself over the long term.

Be sure to specify which year of Aviator you're looking for. The older aviator ran 5w-20. The new turbocharged 3.0L (2020 MY) uses 5w-30.
