Shopping for a luxury car with impeccable craftsmanship? A Bentley may be right for you. From sedans and SUVs to even plug-in hybrid models, you’ve got plenty of options to choose from.

Do Bentley vehicles hold their value?

While depreciation can vary from one model to the next, the popular Bentayga depreciates around 57% over five years. Of course, Bentleys also aren’t cheap — with the 2020 Bentayga base model starting at $156,900.

No matter which Bentley you may have your eyes on, knowing how these vehicles typically depreciate and how much they cost to begin with can give you a better feel for which model may be right for you.

Do Bentleys Hold Their Value?

In general, luxury vehicles tend to depreciate more quickly than non-luxury models. This is because luxury car owners typically wait to trade them in until they’ve become dated — and who wants to spend big money on an outdated luxury model?

Let’s take a look at some specific depreciation numbers for a few of Bentley’s most popular sellers. From there, we can also compare these to the depreciation rates of the competition to see how they hold up.

The Bentley Bentayga, a plug-in hybrid model that was introduced for the 2020 model year, is estimated to depreciate 57% in value over the course of five years. This means that a model bought new for $156,900 would be worth $67,467 after five years.

Customer Perception: Bentley Bentayga

The 2020 Bentley Bentayga has 4.6/5 stars on Vehicle History’s “Owner Reviews” page, with most owners loving its smooth and comfortable ride, as well as its competitive fuel economy.

Meanwhile, the Continental GT is expected to depreciate at a slower rate, with a depreciation value of 48% over the course of five years. If purchased for a starting MSRP of $202,500, this equates to a value of $105,300 five years later.

Customer Perception: Bentley Continental GT

The new Continental GT has received a lot of attention from experts, even going so far as to earn a 10/10 rating with Car and Driver. These reviewers rave about the car’s beautifully appointed interior and unrivaled power.

What about the Flying Spur, Bentley’s large sedan? This model has among the lowest depreciation values of any Bentley at a forecasted 28% deprecation rate over five years. This means a model bought new for $154,900 would still be worth $111,528 five years later.

Customer Perception: Bentley Flying Spur

There aren’t many owner reviews on the 2020 or 2021 Flying Spur just yet, but the 2018 Flying Spur receives a 4.75/5-star rating on Vehicle History. Some owners comment on the high cost of maintenance for this model, but most love its:

  • Sleek and eye-catching design
  • Reliability
  • Indulgent interior

How does that hold up to the competition? Let’s look at a few competitors for reference.
