Silver 2008 Infiniti G35 In Motion

Before buying a vehicle, it’s important to understand which models have the potential to last for years with proper care.

Certain models, like the 2002 to 2007 Infiniti G35, stand up better to the test of time than others do, after all.

How long does the Infiniti G35 last anyway?

When you perform all maintenance tasks on time, you can expect this car to go for more than 200,000 miles without major repairs. Mile after mile, it’ll undoubtedly keep a smile on your face as you zip down the road.

If you’re wondering just what makes the Infiniti G35 so reliable, you’re in luck. We will cover all that info right here in this article. So, dive right in and learn what you can expect from this car.

The Dependable Nature of the Infiniti G35

The G35 was built with performance in mind to ensure it had the same spirit as its sister car, the Nissan 350Z. To accomplish that goal, they equipped it with the trusty VQ35DE V6 powerplant that hails from a long line of dependable engines.

The original VQ came out in 1994 to give the Nissan Cefiro a powerful yet dependable 2.0L V6 engine. Soon after, it was upgraded to the VQ30, which evolved several times through the decades, but never lost its reputation for reliability.

The VQ engine put in the G35 used the same block design as its predecessors. They strengthened its design even more with a forged crankshaft and connecting rods. They also installed molybdenum-coated pistons that generate minimal friction while moving up and down in the cylinders. The result was an engine that could withstand anything you could throw at it while remaining a delight to drive.

Total Number of Miles You Can Expect from the G35

Unless you romp on it too often or skip out on maintenance, the Infiniti G35 should last more than 200,000 miles without any major issues. In the video above, you can easily see just how nice this car still looks after 140,000 miles.

Beyond cosmetic issues, like dash wear, there are no major problems to note. Better yet, the engine still runs strong despite getting up there in the miles, pointing to the potential for the car to last a whole lot longer.

You do need to commit to having the car regularly maintained as recommended by the manufacturer.

Just have each service completed by the ideal interval and you’re golden. You can then simply focus on enjoying the car to the fullest without worry about anything going awry along the way.

Ready to Buy a G35? Remember the Vehicle History Check

If you’re ready to buy an Infinity G35, get ready to go on a lot of fun test drives. Also, take the time to check the car from end to end and run a Vehicle History check.

With that information, you can avoid buying a car with a history of major accidents and other problems that could impact its value. All you need to check its history is the VIN or license plate number. It’s that easy.

2008 Infiniti G35
I had a 2000 Infiniti I30 which I loved. I drove it for many years many miles. I bought an 08 G35 2 years ago, expecting I’d have it around 4 years. Not even close. Last year had to replace AC for almost $2K. This year the engine died on me.Mechanic where I towed to said he couldn’t fix it. Another estimated the repair to be $4500. Car has only 151K miles and the majority of my driving is just a short commute to and from work. Now I’m suddenly car shopping again with less confidence than in the past regarding the infinity. They are pricey to repair. I’m considering buying an M37 with near $150K miles, but nervous

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS! Alright so my true thoughts to this is it really depends on who you got your car from and how the last owner treated, there’s a ton of ppl saying they loved it and a few saying they hate it and this is what I have to say to the people hating it, I am very sorry that someone gave you their somewhat beater car but I guarantee you find a bulletproof one and you’ll fuckin love herr! 2008 G35x at 226k miles and I’m still counting lol, reading a lot of ppl’s reviews helps a lot man.. And is making me love her even more lol..

2006 G35
I bought my 06 G35 almost 2 years ago from a close friend of mines Brother in law.He sold it to me for 1500 dollars! I replaced the belt, radiator cooling fan, and the throttle body right after I bought it, and that’s been it. The valve cover gasket’s need to be replaced because one side is leaking , but other than that it runs great! I live My G35; and I’ll never get rid of it. It just turned 200,000 miles and it still runs great!

Bought the 2003 G35 sedan new and loved it from the drive home. Currently at 220K miles, with nary a major problem in 18+ years. Giving it to my daughter after she finishes her sophomore year. (She trained in the G and already loves driving it.) Before the G, I leased a 2001 Lexus 350 and since I've bought a couple Jeep GCs w/ Hemi engines and a 2017 BMW 440i. All nice vehicles, but the G35 is still the fav.

2008 G35 SX - 95Kmi driven responsibly
Just received word that my 2008 G35 SX has a broken camshaft and requires $10,000 to repair. I bought this car in 2010 with only 8000 miles, and I have spent at least $30,000 in repairs including. New radiator, transmission, catalytic converter‘s, wheel bearings, engine mounts, shifter mechanism etc. I am going to ask the dealer to fill it with cement and throw it in the trash.

2007 infiniti G35
I bought my car "Lola" used. She now has over 200,000 miles. Still runs like she's new. Power and style. I was not aware that she had been wrecked when I bought her. I have replaced some undercarriage parts but besides some leather wear that was already there. I have only had to put brakes and rotors on her. Regular oil changes. When she finally gives up I will purchase another.

2007 Infiniti G35 Coupe
Bought my 07 Coupe in October 2020 at 84K. Love the car and have done struts, belts, window regulator, front rods and bushings, links, (basic suspension wear) and an air tube replacement. Now at 90k. Hoping to keep this beauty good for many many years and miles to come. Whatever she needs, I will do. Love driving this car!

2008 G35x running string at 206K
Just had to put new front bearings and valves on it, but that was first major repair in a long time. Considering how much new and used cars are now this thing is great. Guys at the dealership love it and it looks as good as a new one. My college son drives it now - wish I had something like that when I was in school.

279,375 and counting. I bought it and I believe it had about 240,000 k. The previous and only owner was fanatical about keeping up the maintenance. No major issues... Oh, My AC went out last year but it's only going to cost $800 to fix and it does love GAS!
