Are there any recalls on the transmission of the 2013 Dodge Dart?

As of September 2020, there have been a total of three recalls regarding the transmission, including: 

  • A shifter cable bushing that may detach from the transmission 
  • Transmission control module failure
  • The engine stalling during cold weather

Shifter Cable Bushing May Detach From the Transmission

In April 2019, Dodge issued a recall on certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart models that had been equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. A shifter cable bushing may fail and cause the shifter cable to detach from the transmission.

If this happens, the driver may not be able to shift gears while driving. This issue also creates the risk of a rollaway as the vehicle may not be in “Park” even if the “Park” gear is selected.

To repair this issue, Dodge has offered to replace the shifter cable bushing free of charge on all affected models.

Transmission Control Module Failure

NHTSA Recall ID: 15V542000

In August 2015, Dodge issued a recall for certain 2013-2015 Dodge Dart models that had been manufactured from February 24, 2012 to June 16, 2015. The transmission control module may fail and cause the transmission to unexpectedly shift into “Neutral” while the vehicle is in operation.

To repair this issue, Dodge has offered to replace the transmission control module free of charge on all affected models.

Engine May Stall in Cold Temperatures

In June 2013, Dodge issued a recall on certain 2013 Dodge Dart models that were manufactured from March 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013 and equipped with a 1.4L MultiAir turbo engine and dual dry clutch transmission.

An issue the powertrain control module programming may cause the engine to stall in temperatures that are below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

To repair this issue, Dodge has offered to reprogram the powertrain control module free of charge on all affected models.

Well my experience was with my dodge dart was that I had like multiple service lights came on that services tramission service steering service and etc but 2 years ago I did service at my local dealership on the transmission but recently got the check engine light and all this service light so I thought it was something electronic because all my lights where on an my shift lights where all red so I did my research I’am no mechanic an I found out that this car the module get messed up very often so touch the module that next to my battery an it was really hot it’s call smart drive unit module so I went to my local dealership purchase a module that cost 160 I got it an wola it work all my services light went away an right now it’s working perfectly

I currently own 2013 dodge dart 1.4 turbo been extremely disappointed had it in out of the dealership constantly saying auto stick unavailable on dash an says service transmission on the dash as well I keep getting told have get the transmission replaced but does anyone know if there any recalls on transmissions it I've been told total cost of repair labor going range 3,500-7,000 dollars to fix love get some answers form more dart owners
