The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse useS5.5 quarts of SAE 5W-30 oil to complete an entire oil change. Chevrolet recommends that You use synthetic oil as well because it can do a better job of lubricating Your engine. Oil comes in two major varieties, conventional and synthetic. Conventional oil is petroleum based, and synthetic is engineered in a lab to provide You with more lubrication than conventional. On average synthetic will need to be changed less frequently too. You should only need an oil change every 7,500 miles when using synthetic compared to 3,500 to 5,000 miles with conventional. Make an effort to check Your oil once a month to make sure that it is filled and free from debris or damage.
