The oil type and capacity for Your 2018 Ford Escape will depend on which engine model is included in Your vehicle. The base 1.5L 4Cylinder will have a capacity of 4.3 US quarts and need to use 5w-30 synthetic. The 2.0L 4Cylinder will have a capacity of 5.7 US quarts and will run on the same 5W-30 synthetic oil as the standard engine. The largest option, the 2.5L 4Cylinder will have a capacity of 5.7 US quarts but this will need to run on 5W-20 synthetic instead. The oil drain plug size will be 15mm for the two larger engine options and 13mm for the standard engine.

I was told by the dealership that the 1.5L Ecoboost engine needs 5w 30 because of the charger. Thats what I have used ever since and the I get better gas mileage and power.

The oil type for the 2018 Ford Escape uses SAE 5W-30 or 5W-20, both full synthetics. The 1.5L 4 -cylinder engine prefers 5W-30 and holds 4.3 quarts. The 2.0L 4 -cylinder also uses 5W-30 but has a capacity of 5.7 quarts. The 2.5L 4-cylinder engine also holds 5.7 quarts but prefers 5W-20.
