The cabin air filter in a 2005 Chevy Tahoe is located on the passenger side of the vehicle behind the glove box. The fRam part number for the filter is CF10360, which You can find at any online retailer or local auto parts store. The cabin air filter is an important part to keep up with since all of the air entering the inside of the vehicle flows through it. Some models of the Tahoe have been reported to not have a cabin air filter since the previous years did not use one. To make sure Yours does, simply drop the glove boxAnd look for a black panel with a clip, remove that panel and You should see the filter.

Just an FYI that not all Chevy models (like my 2005 Tahoe) have cabin filters. Even recent years like 2016 and 2017's don't have them either. I bought a filter, took off the cover under the dash and there was no access. You can see where it would be but the plastic is solid with no "bracket" to separate. I was confused so after watching a video online on how to retrofit a filter, I called my local dealer and after giving them the last 8 digits of my VIN, they confirmed is does not have a cabin filter. Hope this helps in case you get confused like I was.
I was having same problem with my 2004 Tahoe the filter was sealed in and had no access /:
