The 2008 Acura RDX came standard with a 2.3 L 4Cylinder engine and that engine will make use of a timing chain system. This will be the same for all models produced froM2007 until 2012. FroM2013 and onward the RDX switched to using a timing belt. The timing chain will more than likely last the life time of Your vehicle. It is possible it can fail if major damage occurs to the engine or if You are in an accident. A replacement timing chain kit will cost between $150 and $250. Because of the difficulty of this job You will probably want to take it in to a mechanic and the total cost of labor and parts will range between $700 and $1100.
