In the Cherokee lineup only the Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped witH2 batteries. One is used for the main motor and the other is considered an auxiliary battery for the Grand Cherokee's stop start feature. You'll find both batteries housed under the passenger's front seat. To access, use the seat's right hand power buttons to move it forward and up. Remove the floor panel flap underneath. The auxiliary battery sits next to and above the Jeep's main power source. If changing remember to use a 10mm and 13mm sockets and remove negative cables first. The cost to replace the second battery ranges between $100-$200 in parts and labor while the Cherokee's main boxAverages between $270-$280.

Stop STOP CONFUSING THE “CHEROKEE” with the “GRAND CHEROKEE” for GOD’s sake ! THE CHEROKEE HAS 1 battery, the GRAND CHEROKEE has 2 for GOD’S sake ! Sheesh. Even GOOGLE can’t tell the difference. The GRAND CHEROKEE HAS TWO ! They are under the back of the front passenger seat ! The “CHEROKEE” has one and it is on the driver’s side under the HOOD . What’s not to under stand ? Two completely different cars !
