The 2019 Toyota Highlander does have remote start. You will come into nasty problems with the battery during the life cycle of the car. The battery can just die. You will need to recharge or replace it at this point. There can be a leak, causing the fluid to spill out. A cracked case could come about and will need to be fixed completely. The battery can drain quickly and will need to repaired. This piece of the car will eventually become ineffective. The battery will need to be replaced every 50,000 to 60,000 miles. It will coSTSome money, but You will have to cough up the cash to keep Your car running.

The 2019 Toyota Highlander comes standard with remote start in the key fob. But, unlike some key fobs, the Highlander key fob does not have a dedicated button for remote start. You mys press the lock button twice and then hold it for three seconds on the third press.

My 2019 Highlander does not do this. None of the Entune Apps support this feature for this model either. To add remote start I can install a 3rd party device or pay $900 for Toyota Start +.

Yes, the 2019 Toyota Highlander comes with remote start. In order to use it you have to press the lock button on the key fob twice and then hold it for a few seconds on the third press

The 2020 does have remote start! Michelle above is exactly right! Two presses of lock and then hold lock button again for three seconds, lights blink and the cars starts. To stop it, simply hit lock again. Not sure why the manual doesn’t tell you any of this.

We paid extra to have remote start added to our Highlander by Toyota at the time of purchase, it was not available as a standard option on any of the trim levels though.

You can buy a remote start for the 2019 platinum on eBay for $200 bucks and you can use your fob to start it by pressing the lock button three time like described in other post. It will only have the range of the fob which is not very far. I bought one and installed it myself it was not that hard to install took about 30 minutes

My highlander came with remote start. Press the lock button three times and on the third time hold. We only found out by accident we had it. They claim its standard.
Just purchased 2019 Toyota Higher Limited Platinum model and it does not come w/ the remote start capabilities. You would think it would be standard on a Limited Platinum trim package…. So disappointed.
I just purchased a 2019 Platinum and found out it didn’t come with remote start. You would think the Platinum version came with a basic thing like remote start. Very disappointed in Toyota. I will purchase a remote start and install it myself.

My 2019 Highlander Limited does not have the remote start. Does not respond to the procedure hit lock twice and hit again and hold for 3 seconds.
