From time to time, You may need to reset or replace the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado's blend door actuator. First, I should note that more commonly, a replacement is required; You can try the following reset procedure, but don't expect a 100% succeSSRate. The internal gears in the actuator are made of plastic, and they're commonly known to fail. Still, it's worth giving it a try. First, You'll need to set climate control to auto, if equipped. If not, manually set the temperature to 0.5 inches to 0.75" inches from full cold, and turn the ignition off. Then, You'll locate the engine compartment fuse panel. Find the HVAC / ECAS-10A fuse, and remove it for a minute. Replace it, and then turn on the ignition, run the truck for 1-2 minutes, then turn the truck off. Wait for between 10 and 30 seconds, and then turn the truck back on. Important to note that You shouldn't touch the controls through this entire process. The reset is complete.

Worked perfectly on my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500hd. Truck was in the shop having the fuse box replaced ( mice) but upon getting it back the blower door wasn’t opening for heat. Just followed the simple instructions and video and everything back to normal with heat.
