The oil life indicator in Your 2019 Honda HR-V is an important signal to let You know when Your oil is at the end of its ability to protect Your engine. If You have the service done at a Honda dealership or another authorized service center they will take care of resetting the light and the timer associated with it but if You do the work Yourself You will need to follow the steps listed below to turn it off. With the ignition on but the engine not running, press the trip reset button until You see the current Oil Life come up on the display. After that You will need to hold the trip reset button for about 10 seconds. When the display starts flashing You need to release the button and then press and hold it for another 5 seconds until the Oil Life is reset to 100%. From there just turn the car off and back on to verify it worked and You are done.
