If Your Subaru immobilizer has the vehicle locked out there are a few different ways to get it running again depending on the model. The first and easiest way is to press and hold the panic button on Your key fob for 5 seconds, then press the lock button twice. The second way is to turn the key in the cylinder for the ignition three times rapidly and then try to start it on the fourth time. Usually one of these two methods will work depending on Your model year. If You have consistent problems with Your alarm system You will want to contact a Subaru service center to make sure there are no problems with the alarm's computer.

I have a 2007 Subaru that has been locked out for over 6 months! I sent it to the Dealer first & they had it for 3 months and they could not fix it! I turn the the key and in 4 seconds the security light comes on steady and no run! Now what do I do?

About as useful as wiping your a**e with a damp rag three times and flushing it down the toilet. At least then when your car doesn’t start you have the opportunity to focus on something else like un-bunging your toilet

On my 2017 Subaru Forester XT I had to pull the key out of my fob and manually unlock the driver door… as doing it the panic alarm sounded… I then hit the lock button as door was open…power locks reset. (passenger side would not unlock either before doing this)It works again. I’m thinking there was more likely a possibility that someone had tampered with my vehicle then stopped. But it also seems electronics are quirky on the vehicle… power lift gate must be pressed on fob longer than a second or two or lift gate malfunctions and needs resetting
