The Chevy Impala should have no problems going over 150,000 miles as long as You take care of it. The most important thing to do to make Your car last a long time is get the scheduled maintenance done. Doing simple maintenance like fluid changes helps Your vehicle last longer. It reduces the wear and tear on the components in Your engine and transmission. Getting Your car in for a service is also a good opportunity for a mechanic to take a look at it. Getting regular vehicle inspections can allow Your mechanic to find small problems before they become bigger ones. It's always easier to fixA small piece of damage before it turns into something big that could break the entire car.

160,000 miles? My 08 Impala is at 379,000 miles and I need to re do the transmission now for the first time. First major repair ever. No engine work. Not even a timing chain.

Your chevy impala can last up to 160,000 miles with regular maintenance checks before its major components like the transmission may fail.

At 180,000; things are starting to break. Replaced alternator last week, replacing trunk mechanism this week and starter sounds as if it is going out. Turn signal assembly is exhibiting issues. Power steering pump was replaced about a year ago. Rear wheel hub replaced at about 100,000 miles. These are the only major repairs; bought car with 25,000 miles on it. Car still rides and handles as if new have not noticed any performance degradation.

My 2011 impala just died last week. I made it to 189,500 miles. The only issue i had was when i had to switch the radiator fan which was only $200 and i switched it myself. That's the only thing i did to it. Motor gave out and died. I got mymoney's worth i think.

80,000 miles, replaced transmission control module, $1600. I was surprised that with so few miles, it needed that.

Mine had no issues up to 150,000 miles. Then it started overheating due to a warped head gasket.
