A Honda Pilot is a very sturdy, robust and solid vehicle that can be expected to last for approximately 150,000 miles, although this can depend heavily on use, care, maintenance etc. Many users have reported getting well over 300,000 miles with very few serious problems or parts requiring replacement. Generally speaking, the Honda Pilot has also received very few complaints. The 2003 and 2016 models were notorious for being expensive to repair, but that has since been addressed by Honda. Honda has also been known for excellent customer service, with many Pilot owners speaking in favor of the service theyve received over a ten year period. For these reasons, You can expect a Pilot to last between 150,000 and 300,000 miles on average.

We're the owner on one of those "Silver Pilots" that you see EVERYWHERE! Bought an '04 used from the original owner ($7K) and let our daughter use it at VA Tech for her senior year. I transfered the title and she then used it for two years after graduation in grueling stop and go D.C. Traffic. I bought it back from her for a $1000 as that is all the guys at the palce she bought her new ride would give her on trade. Daddy's been driving the beast for two years plus and it now has around 230K miles. No issues at all........ It's a Honda for Pete's Sake! So - - - 8 grand of capital and a timing belt and other normal minor maintenance stuff is not too bad, huh? In our family use for five years now and this ride shows no impending signs of being worn out. None.

Mine is a 2010 Honda pilot touring. I have 224,000 miles on mine. Only have had to replace minor normal things. Most I have had to do is timing belt ten pulley . Its been hit 3 times . Turned on over on its side ( not me driving ) drove out every time. While others was beyond repair. I have pulled a 27" camper through ozark mountains multiple times with it. No I have not kept the best at oil changes and things. So if you say its a bad ride. You are wrong. Safety and dependable. Never has not been reliable. 100% best ever.

My 2006 EXL bought new now has 257,000. It was never babied yet still runs strong quiet and smooth. The AC's dead - in New England lack of AC is just a minor annoyance - and several dash lights are burnt out - enough of an annoyance at night to consider a DIY repair. Otherwise no pressing issues for local use. It remains a great asset and I expect to continue driving it a few times a week indefinitely!

I have a 2007 pilot that I bought new. It has 99,000 miles, seriously. Always maintained by Honda except the muffler that was welded by a shop that mud Honda dealer recommended. I’m about to buy new tires and then replace a sensor in right front. It has a rattle over the radio. I want to have it repainted and after reading all the testimonies, will go ahead. I’m worried about underbody rust here in Massachusetts but sounds like my Pilot’s body is good for another few years. Ceiling cover has come loose on the right side and will use mattress pins to re-attach it.

Last winter I bought a 2008 Honda Pilot EX-L with 230,000 miles on it. I tested the transmission (smooth and the vehicle had no hitch). I tested the engine (compression tested the front 3 cyllnders and looked at the sparks), ran am OBD2 tool - no important codes (some TMPS, etc). Looked underneath for rust, had one questionable spot. The tailpipe had no signs of oil burning. Test drove it, was fine. In addition to the $1,000 purchase price, I knew I had to repair both rear window regulators, front and rear suspension, put a new water pump and timing belt, repair the rusted area (rear cross member bolt to chassis), do a thorough carpet cleaning. So, I spent about $2.5k on top to bring it to shape (suspension, all fluids, belts, pump). It is now at 234k miles. I hope it can last to 300k miles. 2008 was the last year of Pilot without VCM. I would suggest deactivating so the engine does not start burning oil. I used to have a 2004 Honda Pilot with 368k miles before I sold it.

About to hit 250k on my 2011 pilot. One timing belt replacement at 200k.(yeah I stretched it) but it was still in good shape. Other then that, mostly just maintence stuff. As long as you aren't in a place that rusts, it should last a long time if you take care of it.

I’ve had 3Honda pilots in my lifetime. A 2003 that had 478,000 miles on it when it finally died (yes she was a rockstar when we ever had to go to the dealer lol), a 2008 with 235,000 and still rolling and my 2015 with 150,000 miles. Honda pilots are the one suv you can expect to get at least 300,000 out of it, and for some little engines that don’t quit, nearly 500,000

My 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L has over 330,000 miles on it. Only regular service has been needed with the exception of replacing a radiator and power steering pump. I’m real religious when it comes to servicing the fluids, belts, hoses, and suspension parts. We have owned it since it was new with 3 miles on the clock. I have only used synthetic oil in it and Honda Genuine other fluids. Can’t beat a Honda for reliability. It is still going strong and is my wife’s daily driver.
