If You take good care and do regular maintenance on the Hyundai Sonata it can last for a long time such as anywhere froM200,000 to 650,000 miles or so. If You don't take care of it and fail to do regular maintenance on it then it won't last very long and You might get as little aS-100,000 miles out of it. At the top of the priority is to change the oil and the filter every 3,000 to 5,000 miles or whenever the oil life indicator alerts You. Oil will help to keep the engine clean and to help it run smoothly. Other scheduled maintenance You can do is replacing the air cleaner, adding fuel additives, replacing the climate control air filter and doing tire rotations.

That's not true at all. I had a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. I wrecked in January. It had 363,000. I would still be driving it today if the guy hadn't pulled out. Missing my Sonata.

Anything over 130,000 is an exception. The vast majority of Sonata's c**p out soon after the 100000 mile warranty expires....

I have a 2009 Sonata Sport. Right now have 715,000 kilometers and still running good. Most reliable car I've owned.
You don't know what you're talking about. The V6's that are "interference" types must have their timing belts changed around 60k miles, As Manufacturer Clearly States. If you've blown one up, that's on you. Otherwise, with normal maintenance & only reasonable care, they'll easily go 250k or more. I know > i have a few different generations, all bought used, paid very little and put almost nothing into. I'm not particularly lucky, i just do my homework first.

2011 sonata limited purchased at a auction in late 2017 early 2018. $3,300 tax & all. Had 136,500 miles. March 2021 190,000 and rides good. Replaced axle is all I've done. Reg oil changes. Great car seriously loaded. I purchase & sell a few often, but decided to hold on to this one. ? in my book!

Hyundai sonata vehicles are built to last. They will go for 200,000 to 250,000 miles before experiencing major engine issues.

I have a 2007 huyndai sonata SE with 248k miles on it, I've pulled it from a ditch hit a dear and was tboned, theres a small oil drip from the oil pan but it doesn't make it to the ground. The tranny has never been prepared and shifts better than most newer cars at 100k miles. I've taken it to drags for stock cars and it holds its own while being pretty easy on the eyes. I've only spent $2,500 for the car and maintenance since 2018

2012Hyundaisonata here with 268,137currently and she purrs like a kitten!
Keep the oil changed synthetic and stay away from red line as much as possible and 200k will feel and drive similar to how it drove and felt off the lot when it was new.

My 2006 Sonata GLE has 314,000 miles and other than replacing the transmission have had very little other issues. Engine still good and strong. Would drive coast to coast in it right now.
I have a 2007 Sonata, 188,000 miles. Been running great. It got stolen and then recovered a week later. I feel that since it was recovered, the milage has gone down a lot. Tank emptying much faster. Doing only about 220 miles (15 gallon tank). What should a 2007 Sonata with 188k miles be doing on a full tank?

I have a 2015 Sonata with 220k miles, same engine and transmission. As long as you read the maintenance manual and follow it exactly it will last! Oil changes ever 3 to 4 k miles it will run forever. It might seem excessive to change it that much but the engines were not made to go over I believe it 5k miles between oil changes.

2010 Sonata 150k miles owned since 100k. Some repairs needed besides regular stuff like oil changes, drive belt tires etc. : New AC compressor, New front Upper Control arms and drop links (noisy bushings - worn out), cracked cooling water manifold (leaking), broken door handle, water pump. Soon to be done are motor mounts (squeaking), drive axles, cooling hoses (unless you want to be stranded by side of the road). Engine/transmission are solid so far. Uses no oil.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited and it has 185k on it and it runs great! I love my car. Although the engine was replace right before I bought it back in 2019. I personally have only put new tires on it, fixed the radiator for the ac to work properly(not very expensive for this car), and oil changes!

I have a 2006 Sonata 2.4 at 166,000 miles. All maintenance is done regularly. Head gaskets are leaking oil , I have to replace brakes and rotors regularly, and have had to do this since purchasing new, per the dealer, along with brake line and calipers. I’ve replaced the control arms and struts and shocks need to be replaced. I was hoping for at least 200,000 , but I can’t see that happening.
George Sranko, have you sild it yet? Where is it located?
