A Kia Optima could last over 200,000 miles, as long as it is well maintained. Ongoing routine maintenance like oil changes can make a big difference in the lifespan of Your car. Especially if the manufacturer's recommended oil is used in all changes. An oil change should be done every 4,000 to 5,000 miles, for optimum performance. If You do this, You r engine will be adequately lubricated and avoid gunk build up. An oil change will cost around $100 to $150, but it is worth it to keep Your car in great shape. While Kias earned a bad reputation in the past for producing low budget cars often considered junk, they have since improved their overall quality.

My optima is 2011 and just over 130,000, I’ve done regular full synthetic every 5000 or oil change. I’ve had some issues with the rear break needing attention more than once and considered that costly. But overall it’s been great. I hope to have this longer due to the pandemic and car shortage! Handles great and still starts in the cold!
