If You properly maintain the Cadillac CTS it can last anywhere from 100,000 miles to 400,000 miles or more if You get lucky. If You fail to maintain the vehicle then You will be lucky to get up to 100,000 miles out of it. Properly maintaining the vehicle means doing all the scheduled maintenance on it which will add up over time. The most important thing You can do for the car is to change the oil because it helps to keep the engine clean but it doesn't last forever. You should change the oil and the filter every 5,000 miles or so. You can also do other maintenance such as changing the coolant, rotating the tires and changing the filters.

My CTS 4 sports wagon with 200000 km ( approx 100000 miles ) has been well maintained according to recommended service but unfortunately i have had some major repair bills recently. Ie 700,00 to replace head light, all labour, and around 3000.00 to repair fuel distribution problems. My latest issue is replacing the rear hatch door hydraulics which was previously repaired under warrantee. I fixed the problem with a peace of wood dwelling (2.75) vs 500.00 service bill.

I have a Cadilac ATS V 6 2013 with 34.000 miles I can see from some of the comments I will be using my car for a very long time. I enjoy the car no problems. Although had a dump truck hit the driver back side and with minor damage which the dealer was able to fix. I thought for sure my car would be totaled but itvwasnt. Built to last.

My 2011 CTS 3.6 and has 170,000 miles. I stay up on all the recommended maintenance and the car has been trouble free (oil gauge sending unit replaced @ 155k). No squeaks or rattles. Still drives nice, has good pick up and gets decent gas mileage. I’m very pleased with the vehicle and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

My 2009 CTS 4, Black Cherry exterior, was purchased new by me in 2009. I teleworked my last six years in the corporate world and have been retired for two + years and so I only have 96,000 miles on it and it runs great. The battery lasted 10 years. The water pump lasted 11. The coolant gets drained and refilled every five years. The oil and filter once a year since 2014 due to annual miles dropping after teleworking started. The spark plugs replaced at 90k miles, all the belts replaced at 80k miles. I’ll keep it another year and then give it to my kid. And she’ll drive it another five or more years.

I see a lot of good feedback here, but I’m curious as to what kind of maintenance had to be done to get to 150,000-200,000 miles. I’m guessing there are some expensive suspension/drivetrain components along the way. What kind of repairs were needed and at what mileage?

I have a 2008 CTS original owner with 175,000 miles….. It’s giving me check engine reading that timing chain is off. Trying to decide if I’m investing $4k in that repair or time for a new ride?

LaDonna B I bought a 2012 Cadillac CTS new, it now has 274,000 miles on it. I have not had any major engine repairs done to it. No transmission issues. I did replace my headlights which was pretty expensive but something I personally wanted to do but was not necessary. I did have a radiator repair and bearing replacement but all in all this has been an awesome car!!
