The 2020 Mazda CX-9 is a strongly built vehicle that is expected to last up to 250,000 miles if given regular maintenance. But what are some tips to make You vehicle last even longer. If You dont use Your car for long periods of time, the battery will degrade and go flat.Consider using a trickle charger to keep the battery topped-up if Your car is left in a garage for an extended period of time or a battery conditioner if it appears to hold less charge than usual. If Your battery does go flat, having to jump start a car puts additional strain on the battery and may damage the engine management system and other delicate electronics: a double-whammy of increased wear.

This is actually false information. Due to the CX-9 water pumps, they go out as early as 60,000-92,000 miles causing coolant leakage into the engine and killing the engine.

Pre 2016 mazda cx9s which had ford v6 did have water pump issues at around 100,000 miles. 2016 and later mazda cx9s have mazda turbo 4s and no such issue. Look it up.

I have a 2008 CX9 with 219000 miles and I've only had to replace the alternator and the starter which both just went out simultaneously and is in the shop now.

The engine of our 2008 Mazda CX9 was no longer working when it reached 104,000 miles. We had to order an used engine from California which had 43,000 mile on it for 4k dollars and had it delivered here to the east coast. Labor costs totalled 1k so we spent 5k to replace a shot engine while still making monthy payments. The only reason we love it is because we are a family of six and it is a comfortable ride with a lot of room. We have spent quite a bit on it and plan to keep it until the engine is shot once again, probably within a year or two. If you want a good ride that lasts a long time, don't buy this.

Well - we purchased a 2020 Cx-9 GT thinking it'll be reliable as it is a Japanese built car. Only a few cars can now be found that are actually made in Japan. At about 40,000 miles the driver side door hinge got loose. It needed to be bolted back in. At 35,000 miles the passenger side mirror was not flexing in anymore. Mazda took care of that under warranty. Then after 50,000 miles there started to be noise at slow speeds. At around 67,000 miles we put it to the shop to get it checked. They found out that the noise was coming from the transmission mount. We fixed the transmission mount. Total of $600 job. We are currently sitting at 69,000 miles. Have had the car for 47 months now. The car has space which we like and it drives very nimble kind of like a small sports car. Never feels you are driving a big 3 row SUV. Not sure how this 4 cylinder turbo-charged engine will last. But if you want something that will last you past 200,000 miles with only scheduled maintenance - I'd so go buy a Lexus or a Toyota (pre-turbo charged engines). The way my car feels like right now - I am not sure it will see the daylight of 150,000 miles.

I bought this car a 2012 for the 3rd row which is a joke it’s so small not spacious at all! Motors went out in driver side and passenger windows, squeak in backing up that can’t be fixed even with new parts from Mazda. New tires. Windshield cracked 2x very easy. Head lights get condensation and are hundreds of dollars to replace, horrible lights. Dual side ac one side broken. Brakes 2x since having it for 3 years. New battery. I’m going back to a ford asap. The body cracks and scrapes so easy it’s cheap parts even when I’ve had 5-8,000$ of body work done. I wanted to love this suv and at 152,000 miles daily driver it’s DOA. It’s nickel and diming Me. My ford sedan lasted well into 200,000 without a fraction of this vehicles problems!
