A Nissan Maxima will last about 200,000 miles on average, depending on how well it is maintained. Some poorly maintained Maximas might develop major engine and transmission problems before hitting 150,000 miles. On the other hand, a well cared for Maxima could run up to 300,000 miles and beyond, before needing major work. Routine things like oil changes and overall care for the car will determine its lifespan. So it is in Your best interest to get them done as when due. The recommended interval between oil changes is every 4000 to 5000 miles. Also, changing things like the oil filters and fuel filters in good time will help in performance and efficiency.

You must be kidding to say Nissan Maxima lasts between 100k and 200k miles. I’ve owned 5 Maximas here in the US and overseas. I drove them all over 230k miles. Non of them ever failed. They performed excellent and still the Maxima is an amazing car.

Nissans were bullet proof before the Renault merger. After the French carmaker took over, the CVT made the Maxima of shadow of its former self. Basically anything after 2003 is s**t. After 4 Nissan, I recently traded my loaded 2011 Maxima for a load 2017 gs 350 luxury. I'll never buy another Nissan. At beauty 85k the transmission was moaning in groaning, the sunroof was creaking and there was there weird vibration on breaking.

I have a 2013 Nissan Maxima. Other than brake jobs and tires I had very little problems until it hit 158,600 miles and then the transmission started slipping. It's at the repair shop now and the damages for a rebuilt CVT will be $4600.00. I'm going to try to sell it for at least that amount otherwise I'll drive it until it stops.

I have a 2010 Maxima S, it has been a great car very few high dollar repairs. Last year I put in 2 new tires, an air conditioner compressor and fixed the driver side window motor, at a cost of about 1600.00. Six weeks ago it went into limp mode, i spent 850.00 on 2 speed sensors that didnt fix the problem. Nissan dealer says it needs a new electrical harness, approx cost 2300. So now it sits, not driving it they only want to give me 600.00 for a trade. It has 185000 miles, not rust, accidents, a great car til this. With new or used cars being so over priced where do you stop spending money on the old?

I bought a 2009 Nissan Maxima about a month ago it has 217,000 miles. I love it. Runs great, good interior. Change the brake pads all around. But I guess it all depends on who had it before you and how good they took care of it but take it for a test drive and you should be able to tell from there check your oil before you buy it check everything around the engine engine leaks what not you can be able to tell if it's going to be a good car for you or not, I like mine.
