The Ford Escape has two oxygen sensors on it for its four cylinder engine. There is one that is on the exhaust before the catalytic converter and one that is after. You can find them since they are screwed into bungs that are welded onto Your headers and exhaust. Your O2 sensors have the job of measuring the exhaust that comes out of Your engine to make sure that the air to fuELRatio is right. If You have a sensor that is failing usually Your engine will run rough since it is not getting the right amount of fuel or air. O2 sensors are pretty simple to replace and it should cost under $100 to replace one if they are failing.
I see 2 but are both toward the engine and not after the Cat? Does that make sense. I have a fault code for bank 1 sensor 1. Is that the top one?

Good luck! I spent 7 hours following a YouTube video, and couldn't find the d**n thing 😤 Then AutoZone told me it is in mid top compartment. We will see?

Outdoor 02 sensors in a 2004 Ford escape low or upper and so that means there's four O2 sensors that I need to buy I called and auto place to order them they asked me if I need the low or upper and I didn't ask the mechanic before to go order it any suggestion do we have to change out all four
