The Dodge Nitro was available in two different engine options. It had a factory standard 3.7L V6 but there was also the option for a more powerful 4.0L V6. The standard engine will have a capacity of 5 US quarts when the filter is included and will need to run on 5W-20 oil. The upgraded 4.0L engine will have a capacity of 5.7 US quarts including the filter but will instead need to run on 10W-30. No matter which engine You have they will both need to use synthetic oil. The oil will need to be changed out every 7,500 miles but these vehicles come with an oil life indicator telling You when it's time.
