The first thing You should consider doing if You're having issues with Your Ford Focus's idle speed is thoroughly clean Your throttle body assembly with a rag and carburetor cleaner. Often, this will be enough to return Your vehicle to a normal idle, since dirt, debris, and even rust can hold the body open (or closed), which will affect Your idle speed. If You've already tried this, then You may move onto locating the idle adjuSTScrew. You'll already be in the neighborhood, since it's located on Your throttle body assembly. When You adjust this upward or downward, it will also adjust Your idle RPMs; adjust the screw until Your vehicle is idling in a range that's acceptable to You. Most recommend just below 1,000 RPM.
