2008 Silverado doesn't have a cabin air filter.

To change the cabin air filter you will open the glove compartment all the way to replace the cabin air filter, and remove the screw on the lower right side. Squeeze together the sides of the glove compartment and pull to move the tabs past the edges, to the front of the dash. Squeeze the tabs together to remove the plastic cover. Tabs are visible on both sides. Slide the old filter out by pushing it in your direction and insert the new filter.
