I don't know what kind of phone You've got, so this is going to be a bit generic, but should work about the same whether it's Android or iOS. You'll need to extrapolate accordingly. From the end of the 2005 Mercedes C-230, though, the process is going to be pretty simple. First, You'll need to enable bluetooth on Your mobile device. Go ahead and do that now. Next, take Your phone with You and get into Your Mercedes. This is a very important step: If You leave Your phone at a friend's house, and try to do this, You're going to be disappointed. Especially if that friend goes on vacation for a week, with Your phone at their house. Yeah, it still stings, Chad, it still stings. Push the "Phone" button on Your radio control settings inside Your Mercedes, and select "bluetooth Phones" from the displayed list. Navigate through the system, going to "Options" and then "External Authorization". Your Mercedes can now attempt to find Your cell phone and pair with it. You should see a notification on Your phone that reads "MB bluetooth". Select this, and then click on yes when Your mobile asks if You want to authorize "MB bluetooth" to connect with it. The Mercedes at this point should prompt You to choose a SRX digit numeric code. Speak this code to Your car (not the phone), and input it with the numeric keypad (on Your phone). Now, select the "Connect" option on Your phone when You've put in the pass code, and in a few minutes, You should see the word "Paired" display on both the C230's radio and Your mobile.
