In order to engage the parking brake in a Ram 1500, You'll need to firmly press down on the leftmost pedal in Your foot well. Disengaging it though is a bit more tricky. This isn't like most vehicles, where there's either a clearly labeled release or You push it down again to disengage. The Ram 1500 does have a release lever, but it's built to look like a part of the truck's trim. You'll find it directly above the parking brake. JuSTStick Your fingers behind the "dashboard trim", and pull forward., This is the parking brake release, and pulling it will disengage Your parking brake. Ensure that Your foot is on the brake petal while doing this, to avoid any unwanted movement.

Put your right foot on the regular brake to unlock the emergency brake in a ram 1500 and pull the handle on the left, lower side of the dashboard that reads "(p) brake unlock." It releases the emergency brake and allows you to drive freely.
