To reset the Honda CR-V after You have changed the battery You will need to follow these quick steps. Turn the radio on using the power button. Let it sit for just a minute. Now turn the radio off using the power button, but do not let go of it. Hold it down for about 30 seconds to a minute. Now turn it back on and do not press anything for a few minutes. The radio is resetting, but it takes a little bit sometimes. After 5 minutes have passed You can go back to using the radio how You want.

This site will give you the code https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ or on newer models, you can look for a sticker on the inside of the glove box that has the 5 digit code.

I've tried several times to reset the radio in our 2006 CRV. I do everything according to the instructions here, I get the serial number of the device...I went to the website and retrieved the code. My question is, where do/how do I enter this code into the device to reset it? I've also tried turning off the device and holding the power button for a minute...that doesn't do anything either. I have an "error 7" after messing around with it so far, lol.

Hold the 1 and the 6 buttons at the same time then while holding down the 2 buttons still, push the power button until you see a 8 digit code then type the code that comes up and your radio should work. The 5 digit code in my glove box did not work! I found this out on utube. My problem is it wont stay on!

Try going here: https://radio-navicode.honda.com/ You need your VIN and Device Serial # (you can find it if you press the info button and then select system information. It is the number after "device" on the display.

2015 Honda CRV LX is what I drive. You must turn the key to Accessory (second position) where your dash lights come on, then when you see the radio asking for a code turn it off with the power button. I did let go of the button for half a second, then held it down for about 2 or 3 seconds and the radio came on. Have a quick look at this YouTube short if results vary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaW0AJY9qSI
