What does the ford f150 wrench light on the dash mean?

The light whinch light will come on and the speed drops to 0 it’s a 2013 Ford F-150 eco boost I can cut the truck off and it’s ok eny I dill

On a ford f150 the wrench light on the dash indicates that the all-wheel drive system is malfunctioning or there is powertrain issue.

Wrench light came on in my 2013 F150 5.0 flex fuel engine. All the gauges stopped working and the digital ones went blank. Slow to accelerate and acted like there was a rev limiter on it. Air bag light was on as well. Any ideas?

Does anyone have an answer for this issue?

My 2018 F-150 went dead while driving to a surgical procedure, both the wrench light and the check engine light came on and the vehicle came to a stop when I made a turn onto a side street to be out of traffic and the truck went dead, I placed it in neutral and it cranked up without the check engine light coming on but the tool light stayed on, after the surgery I stopped by the dealership only to be told that they would need my vehicle for 3 to 4 day before they could get to it, I did drive home and all lights went off and I did leave my truck with the dealer for four days and the never got to it. On My Own: I found that if you pump gas while the engine is running this can cause the problem and they can't find it, I wasted my time, money and a 4-day rental to come up with my own answer and hope that this help some one out there. All lights went off and I have had no more problems

The design flaws in these motors are unreal Ijust change motor out in one and now it shows power train issues nothing'swas wrong before why now

My wrench light came doing 80 mph lost 6th gear all digital was blank on the dash drove it to work about 5 miles no other problems turned it off back on everything was on properly talked to ford $145 to scan hopefully find a code or keep driving see if it happens again time will tell

How did the surgery go

Just purchased a 2013 King Ranch. Best truck I ever had. The wrench light was coming on every other time I first drive it. Once the check engine light came on too. Had the boys at Auto Zone diagnose. Said it was a speed sensor error. Looked into it further, via the web, heard that low tranny fluid could cause this too. Went to Valvoline Oil Change. Praise God the mechanic who was there recommended a complete transmition flush. The fluid that came out was DARK BROWN....BURNT. Even I know that tranny fluid is PINK. The wrench light came on that day, and the next. Haven't come on in a month. I've tried everything to make it come on. Now I have my "TEXAS CADILLAC "! Hope this helps.... JDP

The wrench light will illuminate if the ecm detects a problem with the drive train. Mine came on 11/14/22. The wrench light on my f150 is not the check engine light. I started my truck remotely to let it warm up and after 10 minutes I went to get in and the whole truck was shaking like half the plugs weren't firing. The wrench light was on and when I pressed the accelerator there was no response....the ecm put it into limp mode. I shut it off and tried to restart and after cranking longer than usual it started, wrench light still on and now the check engine light was also on. After letting it sit for several hours I went out to start it again and it fired right up and the wrench light was off but check engine light was still on and itaccelerated normally. Shut it off and hooked up my code scanner, I got code P2112 ....throttle plate stuck closed. Cleared the code and took it for a ride and the check engine light stayed off with no pending codes. Popped the hood and pulled the hose off the throttle body and sprayed throttle body cleaner all around the throttle plate to loosen up the little bit of gunk I could see. So far it's been running normally.

I had just started towing a 2500 lb trailer to Florida at highway speed when the yellow wrench comes on. It did not slow me down at all. I pulled off at an exit, shut it off and looked at the owners manual which said something about limp home mode . It went away when I started up again and after 5600 more miles towing and driving around Florida and back to Michigan it never came back in. I did start using tow mode the rest of the time so it wouldn’t shift as much on hills.

Just bought a 2013 King Ranch. 160,000 miles. Beautiful condition. Wrench error was going off almost rvery time I tool it for a ride. Stop, turned it off, went away. Couple of times I wasn't in a place to stop. The "check engine" light came on. Once I was able to stop and restart. It ran fine and eventually the check engine light went off. Researched the issue and found that low tranny fluid can cause this. Noticed every time the wrench came on, my tyranny either slipped or shifted hard. I took my truck to Valvoline and they completely recycled the fluid in my transmission. The fluid that came out was a dark brown, almost black. It happened again when I pulled out. Since then I've had NO issues. I took it out and tried to duplicate the slippage or hard shift. NOTHING! Drives like a champ! Start with a transmission flush! Hope this helped. Let me know... Looks like I’m in the same boat. 2013 eco motor. Front airbag warning came on and same time wrench came on and going through the gears was definitely different when warning wrench light on..cut truck off and back on and everything went back to normal. I seen one othe post like this where the driver side airbag comes on as well.. Does anybody has a idea of what’s going on ??? Wanted to check here before making an appointment at ford dealership. Tks

My2017 F150 wrench lights comes on today as soon as I hit 100,000 miles on the dot. That seems to be very odd. Call ford and they say it needs to be inspected for possible power train issues.

My 2014 f150 wrench icon came on. Had no power.i shut the truck off and started it up again and wrench icon was gone and it ran fine

2013 Ford F150. My Fuel Pump Driver Module had failed and truck would crank/nostart due to no fuel. I replaced the part and also found the fuse was blown for same. I borrowed a fuse from another slot to get the truck started. I have since replaced to borrowed fuse, but the Wrench is on and the Check Engine Light is on with no errors. Truck seems to run fine otherwise, but I was expecting it to clear itself after the fuse was replaced.

Just had a similar problem tonight when the truck engaged in gear it showed that it was in third seem to have a bit of a struggle went to advanced Auto they checked for fuses couldn't find any fuses that were blown started it back up and is working fine Dan and Ferdinand did you find out anything about yours
