The s gear stands for sport mode setting which allows You to manually shift the gears via the toggle on the shifter. This will increase the output of the car, causing it to change gears later and rev the engine higher. This will generate more power, allowing You to reach speed quicker. The downside is that You will also burn through fuel much faster, almost 1.5 times as fast.
