The 2001 Toyota Corolla fuel filter is located on the driver's side of the engine chassis and it is encased ina small canister and will be attached to the fuel line. You will be able to access it best when going underneath the vehicle near the driver's side wheel well. It is recommended that You change the fuel filter every 30,000 miles to prevent any internal damage. If You use the proper octane rating unleaded gas the fuel filter should have no issues but there can be problems that arise from bad quality gas. The cost for a replacement fuel filter will range from $15 - $25 and can be purchased at most auto-parts stores. Takeng it to a mechanic will cost a lot more because it is strenuous labor and the replacement will range from $300 - $500 including parts.
