If You would like to find out how much transmission fluid to use on Your 2015 Chevy Sonic, I can help You out with that. The transmission fluid capacity on the Chevy Sonic is 2.5 quarts. The type of transmission fluid use on Your vehicle is DEXRON®-ViAutomatic Transmission Fluid. The purpose of transmission fluid is to keep the transmission lubricated and to preserve its health. What this fluid also does is prevents overheating and cleans the parts that it comes in contact with. I would recommend checking the fluid once a week so that You avoid having it get too low.

From what I can find it’s mor like 4+ quarts. There’s an inspection plug that the fluid level should reach when full.

Just drained and refilled my automatic 2012 Sonic LS, with the side inspection plug removed. At approximately 4.75 qts., the fluid began coming from the inspection plug, and I knew it was full.

I drained my sonic ATF and measured it. It came to about 4.8 liters (that’s about 5 quarts) that’s what came from the factory. Top answer indicated above is wrong, besides the sonic does not have an ATF dipstick.
