The Ford Explorer 2014 and 2015 recal 16n04 is the car in the recall notice designed to remedy the separation of the door panel and armrest and the incorrect paneling of the front door trim. The recall iS-Classified under the 17n04Client satIS Faction plan. This plan will expand the front door trim panel's manufacturer's warranty service plan to 5 years in service or 100,000 miles from the vehicle's warranty start date, whichever happens first. It is a one-time service for repairs. This extended warranty coverage will continue until November 30, 2018, if a car has already met either the time or mileage limits. Coverage is passed to future owners immediately. If the vehicle is shown with the condition the dealership mechanic will remove and repair both the front door trim panel and the service is done for free for the vehicle owner.

Some 2014-2016 models of the ford explorer and police interceptor are prone to a faulty front door trim panel cover that may come loose near the top by the window. While it poses no immediate danger to driver or passengers, the recall extends warranty coverage and it can be fixed by a licensed dealer at no cost.
