The 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 has a standard towing capacity of 8,200 pounds. If You get the optional tow package installed then the vehicle can safely tow up to 10,200 pounds. Note that these numbers are with the back of the truck empty. If You are hauling cargo in the back then the towing capacity will go down.
