The kind of oil a Ford Escape takes iS5w-20. Having high quality oil is essential for the engine to run smoothly. You will run into issues with this fluid at some point. 5w-20 is the factory oil. If you car is am Ecoboost I recommend 5w-30 as it is a bit thicker oil.

Valvoline is a good oil. There are plenty of independent test out there to prove this. Don't let some hack tell you different.
