The 2004 Ford F-150 cabin air filter is located behind the glove box on the passenger side of the truck. To change the cabin filter on a Ford F-150 You will open and empty the glove box. Locate a screw on the lower right side and remove this screw if applicable (not all models have this) Locate plastic tabs along the edges of the glove box. When You depress these You will notice the glove box will open more fully. Next, locate a long, rectangular plastic strip and find two tabs on each side. By squeezing in these tabs, the plastic will come away exposing the air filter. Remove and replace the cabin air filter. Put the plastic strip back on and reassemble the glove boxBy using the reverse instructions.
Per the shop manual, the air distribution system on this 2004 F150 cannot have a cabin air filter. Disregard the recommendation, as it does not apply to your truck.
