The amp on the 2006 Chevy Silverado is located under the rear seat on the passenger side. The amp is designed to take a small electrical signal, and boost it to be much larger than it normally would be. In this case, it takes the signal that comes from the speakers and makes it loud enough for You to hear them. If the speakers are not working and You have checked the fuse then You need to look for the amp and see if it has damage or a bad fuse. A new amp will cost You about 400 dollars, plus the install price, but if You want Your radio to work then You will need to have this repaired.

The amp is under the cup holders on the center console, NOT under the rear seat.
