Since 2007 Chevy Impala's fuel filter has been installed in the fuel pump inside the gas tank and is considered a non-serviceable part. The filter is designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. However, due to lack of care or exposure to debris, permanent filters can become clogged, faulty and impair driving. The repair is costly because the entire gas tank must be dropped and the fuel pump removed to replace the filter. To preserve the Impala, change synthetic oil at recommended intervals, every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months. Use the correct octane in the gas tank (regular, unleaded 87 octane) and schedule routine checkups that include emissions inspections. Regular maintenance will help prolong the Impala's long-term reliability.

Again some in front of tank before engine some in the tank module. Although I haven't seen one outside the tank yet. Including the one on the rack in my garage I'm setting in. Putting a fuel tank pressure sensor in.
