The 2017 Nissan Sentra's starter is located in front of the engine but behind the radiator, a few inches to the right of Your yellow dipstick. Before beginning this or any other electrical system repair or replacement, please remember to disconnect the negative terminal from Your battery and to drain any excess power -- failure to do so can result in not only damage to electrical components, but also personal injury or death. Luckily, Nissan makes the starter easy to access -- You won't even need to get Your pants d***y. You'll be able to complete the entire repair or replacement from the top of the vehicle, as the starter is accessed through the engine bay. As such, You won't need to secure the vehicle on jack stands, or even jack it up, which makes the swap that much faster.
