The 2003 Chevy Avalanche cabin air filter can be found underneath the glove box on the passenger side. You will have to remove the glove compartment to gain access to replace the filter. A replacement filter will cost about $10 - $30 depending on the brand and if it's an aftermarket or OEM product. You will want to change the filter every 30,000 miles or if You notice the cabin of Your truck to have a musty smell it may be time to change it. Sometimes the condensation from the A/C will drip onto the filter and cause it to mold and give off an unfriendly smell. There will be a couple of bolts and screws that You will have to remove to gain access and You will need a Phillips screwdriver and ratchet/socket set.

No you will not. Only 2002 Avalanche had an in cabin air filter. 2003-up does not. Some people have cut the housing and added one, but the factory did not include a filter.

2003 Z66 does not have an air filter. I’ve replaced the blower resistor, which is a common problem and easily done for about $25 there’s no air filter on the 2003 Avalanche.

This is a cabin filter in the 03 z66. It's just you have to take apart The whole AC system to get to it. I'm currently doing a retro fit and adding a door to access it.
