The 2006 Chevy Impala fuel filter can usually be found in the engine compartment, on the passenger's side. It is good practice to not just pull the filter right out, without first removing the fuel pump fuse. This allows the fuel to drain from it. If Your fuel filter is bad, there are tell tale signs like the car not starting at all, or starting rough. It can also cause rough idling, when You stop at stop signs and such. Replacing the fuel filter will normally cost about $50 to $70, depending on where You get the parts or get the replacement done. This amount includes parts and labor, and can generally be completed in less than an hour.

The fuel filter of a 2006 chevy impala is located near the fuel tank underneath the engine, in the back. A clamp collar which is connected to the car's body contains the fuel filter. To fix the fuel filter you'll need to cut it. Remove the bolt that holds the ring.
